Sorcery Subtypes
In Magic: The Gathering, sorcery subtypes are always a single word and listed after a long dash. For instance, 'Sorcery - Arcane' indicates that the card has both the Sorcery and Arcane subtypes. Each word after the dash represents a separate subtype.
The set of sorcery subtypes remains consistent, allowing players to easily identify and categorize different sorceries. These subtypes include Arcane, Adventure, Instant, and others.
Adventure as a Spell Type and Sorcery Subtype
Adventure is both a spell type and a sorcery subtype. It first appeared on creature cards in Throne of Eldraine, providing players with an additional way to utilize their creature cards.
When a card with an Adventure subtype is played, its casting cost is treated as the mana cost of the Adventure. This allows players to cast the Adventure immediately or wait until a later turn to cast the creature.
1-for-1 Removal and Prismatic Ending
1-for-1 sorcery-speed removal has proven effective in controlling the battlefield. However, Prismatic Ending has emerged as a dominant force in multicolor Constructed decks.
Prismatic Ending's versatility, thanks to its ability to target specific card types, makes it a valuable addition to many decks. It provides players with a flexible removal option that can disrupt opponents' strategies.
Thoughtseize: A Powerful Hand Disruption Card
Thoughtseize is widely recognized as the best hand disruption card in Magic: The Gathering. For just one mana, players can discard any nonland card from their opponent's hand. This potent effect comes with a drawback, as the controller of Thoughtseize loses 2 life.
Despite its cost, Thoughtseize remains a staple in many competitive decks, providing players with immense control over their opponents' strategies.
