Defense Separates Brown From Tatum in Finals MVP

Jaylen Brown has been named the 2024 NBA Finals MVP after leading the Boston Celtics to their 18th championship in franchise history. Brown averaged 27.4 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 4.0 assists in the series, while shooting 52.4% from the field and 42.9% from three-point range.

"It's an honor to be named Finals MVP," said Brown. "This is a team award, and I couldn't have done it without my teammates. We worked hard all season, and we're so happy to have brought a championship back to Boston."

In Game 7, Brown had 24 points, 7 rebounds, and 5 assists as the Celtics defeated the Golden State Warriors 103-90. Brown was particularly impressive on the defensive end, holding Warriors star Stephen Curry to just 16 points on 7-of-24 shooting.

"Jaylen Brown is a special player," said Celtics coach Ime Udoka. "He's a complete player who can do it all on both ends of the floor. He's one of the best young players in the NBA, and he's only going to get better."

Brown's performance in the Finals was a culmination of a breakout season for the 26-year-old. He averaged 24.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 3.5 assists in the regular season, and he was named an All-Star for the first time in his career.
