TheEdmonton Oilers staved off elimination in their Stanley Cup Final series with the Florida Panthers, defeating them 5-1 in Game 6 on Tuesday night in front of an energized home crowd.

The Oilers will now head back to Florida for a decisive Game 7 on Thursday night, with the Panthers looking to win their first-ever Stanley Cup and the Oilers aiming to become the fifth team in NHL history to win a best-of-seven showdown after trailing 3-1.

The Panthers took an early lead in the series, winning the first two games at home. However, the Oilers have fought back with three consecutive wins, including a 3-0 shutout in Game 5.

In Game 6, the Oilers dominated play from the start, outshooting the Panthers 29-14 and scoring the game's first three goals. Connor McDavid led the way for Edmonton with two goals and an assist, while Leon Draisaitl added a goal and two assists.
